- Years 2006-2014 The replacement of the engine oil is an operation which must also be associated with the replacement of the oil filter, this must also be carried out preferably in a workshop equipped with a lift and special containers for collecting the used oil. On the Nissan Qashqai, the first thing to do is to lift the car on a lift in order to have access to the lower part of the engine, this will be protected by a plastic cover that can be removed by unscrewing the various screws placed along the perimeter of the same. After removing the plastic protection you will have access to the oil pan where the drain plug will be present, before removing the latter it will be necessary to place a container under it large enough to contain all the oil that will come out from the engine, at this point you can unscrew the cap and drain the oil from the engine. Once the used oil has stopped flowing, the oil filter can be disassembled, it will be positioned above the sump towards the radiator and a socket wrench will be enough to remove it, to carry out this operation it will be necessary to position the container used oil under the filter to prevent oil spills. Once the oil filter has been removed, the drain plug can be put back into the sump, this will be accompanied by a copper gasket which is recommended to be replaced with a new one. After putting the cap back on, you can proceed by screwing the new oil filter into its seat, this will have an O-Ring in the upper part that will be moistened with oil before installation, moreover, in case you do not have a key torque to be set at 20 NM, it is advisable to screw the latter with only the strength of your hands without tightening it excessively with the wrench, at this point the engine will be ready to accommodate the new oil so you can reassemble the plastic protection and prepare for topping up. After getting off the car from the bridge, you can pour the oil inside the engine through the filler cap located above it, accessible from the front hood, at this point, after having poured the quantity of oil required by home it is advisable to carry out a first start-up and then check the oil level again and top up if necessary.
