Replacing Timing Chain on Micra K12

Model: Nissan Micra K12 - Years 2002-2010

Let's look at replacing the timing belt on a Nissan Micra. Remove the front right wheel after raising the vehicle on a jack. After removing the splash guard from under the wheel arch, remove the timing belt cover panel (remove the sensor if present). Using the appropriate spanner, loosen the second tensioner and slide the belt out of its seat. After installing the new belt, use the spanner to fit the tensioner, tightening until the belt has the correct tension (install both belts). Finally, check the tensioner and the belt itself, tightening everything with a socket wrench. Refit the splash guard and all covers.
