How to Replace the Key Battery of an Opel Insignia?

To replace the key battery of an Opel Insignia, start by pressing the small button on the key to release the mechanical key. Once extracted, you will notice a slot along the edge of the key where you can insert a small flat screwdriver or a plastic tool.

Insert the tool into this slot and gently pry to open the key shell, separating it into two parts.

After opening the key, you will see the battery positioned inside. It is usually a CR2032 battery.

Carefully remove the flat battery, taking care not to damage the metal contacts. Insert the new battery into the same compartment, ensuring that the positive (+) side is facing upwards.

Once the new battery is inserted, carefully close the key by bringing the two parts together and pressing until you hear a click confirming that the shell is securely closed. Finally, reinsert the mechanical key and check that the remote works correctly by testing the locking and unlocking of the doors and other functions associated with the key.
