How to Replace the Front Brake Disc on an Opel Astra

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra G - Years 1998-2006

In this video, we will show you how to replace the front brake disc on an Opel Astra. Position your car on a column lift and raise it to a comfortable height for working. Unscrew the wheel nuts with a socket wrench or air drill and remove the wheel, then start unscrewing the bolts of the brake caliper to detach it from the bracket. Use a screwdriver to detach the brake pads. Now remove the caliper bracket and unscrew the bolts on the brake disc (using a Torx screwdriver), then pull the disc towards you to slide it off the hub. Fit the new brake disc with all the associated bolts, tighten the caliper bracket to the disc and the pads, then refit the brake caliper, ensuring all bolts are tightened properly. Before refitting the wheel, bleed the brake caliper and tighten the bolt. Finally, refit the wheel with the nuts.
