Error code 89 on an Opel Astra model J vehicle indicates that the fuel pressure sensor is not functioning correctly and therefore needs to be replaced. Replacing the fuel pressure sensor is a somewhat complex operation but still doable independently.

To replace the sensor, we need to open the front hood and immediately disconnect the connector of the old sensor, then unscrew the bolts that secure it to the engine and pump. After removing the malfunctioning sensor, we insert the new one, first connecting it to the connector and then securing it with the bolts.
