The start & stop system is a mechanism that reduces both fuel consumption and emissions, which activates automatically when the vehicle makes a brief stop, for example, in heavy traffic or at a red light, turning off the engine. However, this system can be annoying in some cases, and many drivers prefer to disable it. In the 2017 Opel Mokka, which is from the first phase, the start & stop can be disabled by pressing the dedicated button on the central dashboard, identifiable by the symbol of the letter A surrounded by a circular arrow.
