Replacing Engine Oil and Filter

Model: Vauxhall Corsa Corsa C - Years 2000-2006

This tutorial demonstrates the procedure for replacing the engine oil and filter on an Opel Corsa. First, the brand and type of oil to be used are shown (a 4-litre drum of Petronas Sinthium 1000). Using an Allen key, unscrew the sump plug located underneath the vehicle and collect the old oil in a container. Meanwhile, unscrew and clean the plug located on the top of the sump. Using both hands, also unscrew the filter plug and remove it. Remove the old gasket and clean the plug thoroughly with a cloth. Now take the new filter and attach it to the plug; insert the new rubber gasket (this is usually included with the new filter). Lubricate the threads of the plug and the end of the filter with a bit of oil and insert it into its housing. Tighten it securely. Once the old oil has completely drained, refit the plug under the sump and tighten it with the Allen key. Proceed to pour in the new oil using a funnel. Finally, check that the oil level is within the range of the dipstick.
