Instructions for Replacing Glow Plugs

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra F - Years 1991-1998

Open the front bonnet and locate the glow plugs: they are found at the front of the engine connected in parallel by a metal bracket; then, remove the connecting element of the glow plugs and check the resistance value of the glow plugs using an ohmmeter (commonly known as a tester): if a glow plug shows an open circuit, it means it is damaged. Alternatively, more empirically, take a piece of electrical wire, touch one end to the glow plug and with the other touch the positive terminal of the battery: if it sparks, the glow plug is good. Once the faulty glow plugs are identified, unscrew them and replace them with new ones; then reconnect them in parallel.
