How to remove the ABS on an Opel Astra? Let's look at removing the part located inside the engine bay. Lift the front bonnet, disconnect the electrical terminals from above the battery, then remove the coolant reservoir: disconnect all the hoses from the reservoir. Locate the ABS unit in its housing. Use a socket wrench to unscrew the ABS fastening screws. Once the unit is removed from its housing, compare it with the new part. Install the new replacement part with the appropriate fastening screws: connect the power connector. Finally, reinstall the coolant reservoir and the electrical terminals.
