Water Ingress in the Cabin

If you find the mats and carpet of your Opel Astra soaked with water, there may be leaks from the door seals or a blocked drain. The one to check is located under the cabin filter housing, in the engine bay, just below the windscreen. Once you open the bonnet and remove the rear seal, you can lift the plastic cover protecting the cabin filter: at the bottom of the bodywork is the rubber that acts as a drain; if it becomes blocked, the water level rises and, through the filter housing, ends up in the cabin. A good solution may be to remove it permanently. Ensure the carpet dries completely to avoid unpleasant odours.
