In this guide, follow the main steps to remove and replace the timing belt on the Opel Astra H 1.9 CDTI, following the instructions below. First, lift the engine from underneath; then open the bonnet and remove the air filter box along with the intake hose, as shown in the video.

Next, remove the engine mount on the timing side and take off the drive belt; then also remove the crankshaft pulley to proceed with the removal and replacement of the timing belt.
