How to Change the Coolant in an Opel Astra H

Periodically replacing the coolant is certainly an excellent way to preserve the components of the cooling circuit (mainly the water pump, radiator, and cabin heater) from oxidation that can lead to failure; it is recommended to perform this maintenance with the engine cold, then open the cap of the expansion tank and the drain plug of the radiator located at the bottom right of the radiator itself; once the system is drained, refill it with the appropriate coolant, then start the engine with the cabin heater on and wait for the fan to activate before checking the level in the expansion tank again.
