How to Replace the Common Rail Sensor on an Opel Meriva

The common rail sensor communicates the pressure inside the common rail to the ECU, where there are extremely high pressures. The pipe above the engine is the rail, from which small pipes lead to the injectors. At the end of the pipe is the pressure regulator, and on the other side is the pressure sensor. To change the sensor, ensure the vehicle is cold. Start by loosening the yellow tab and pulling it off. Then, using a 27mm spanner, unscrew the sensor. Remember to place a clean cloth to prevent any impurities from entering the rail. The YouTuber notices some sludge that he manages to clean off before easily refitting the new sensor by hand and then tightening it with the spanner. Refit the yellow tab and start the engine. It may take a moment as the rail needs to fill up.
