Replacing the Cooling Water Thermostat

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra F - Years 1991-1998

Open the bonnet and disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Open the cap of the radiator expansion tank. Unscrew the screws of the engine cover and remove it to access the inside. Locate the thermostat and disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the various water hoses to access the thermostat and proceed with its removal. The thermostat is located on an aluminium elbow that needs to be removed and cleaned. Install the new thermostat and proceed to reassemble the various elements previously removed. Reconnect the connector and top up the coolant.
