How to change the gearbox oil in a Peugeot 207

To access the gearbox breather, you will need to remove the airbox, first by taking out the sensor and intake duct, then pulling it towards you. The battery has been removed in the video, but it is not necessary. Now let's look at the gearbox breather, where we can insert the cleaner from the can using a funnel to effectively clean the system: the liquid passing through the funnel may take some time. Now we need to put everything back in place and start the car to allow the cleaner to work, leaving the engine running at idle for fifteen minutes, but without driving the vehicle. Now we need to lift the car and remove the plastic cover to access the drain plug; you will need to remove the anti-tangle bar to facilitate the drainage of the liquid and the opening of the plug. Of course, we need to place a container under the plug to collect the liquid, which will then be disposed of at an authorized center. Once all the liquid has drained, replace the plug with a new one, put back the anti-tangle bar, and then the plastic cover. Lower the car and then refill the brake fluid in the reservoir. This operation requires the utmost attention. We need to disassemble all the components we removed earlier to access the breather again, and with patience, add the oil using a funnel, little by little, up to the recommended amount in the owner's manual for an automatic gearbox. For a manual gearbox, about two liters will be needed. We can reposition the breather plug and then put back all the removed components. Operation completed.
