If you hear a screeching noise from the front wheels while braking, it is likely that the brake pads are worn down enough to score the discs: in this case, both the discs and pads need to be replaced. Lift the vehicle to remove the wheels, brake caliper, and the associated bracket, extracting the old pads.

Proceed to remove the brake discs from the hub, clean and grease the disc seat before installing the new ones. Clean and install the caliper bracket, insert the new pads, and then refit the caliper, paying attention during the initial braking.
