Before purchasing a used Peugeot 5008, the most important thing to clarify is which engine and gearbox it has. The reliability difference between the various versions is enormous: some are nearly indestructible, while others are a risky gamble. The 2.0 HDi (150-163 hp) is the most reliable: few problems, good power, and low consumption.

The 1.6 HDi has had issues with the turbo, DPF, and lubrication, with a risk of oil "cooking"; the BlueHDi versions (from 2014) may have faults with the AdBlue tank, urea injector, and sensor, with high costs. The 1.6 THP (turbo petrol) is the most problematic: timing chain stretch, oil consumption, and valve deposits; the versions from 2014 have improved but remain risky.

The 1.6 VTi is simpler but may have distribution problems. Avoid the BMP6/ETG6 automated gearbox (jerking and slowness).

Prefer the manual gearbox. Before buying: read error codes with an OBD scanner, check the service history (frequent oil changes every 10-12,000 miles), ensure recalls have been performed, and test the head-up display, electric tailgate, climate control, and Start-Stop. In summary: the 2.0 HDi manual is the best choice; the 1.6 THP and 1.6 HDi with automated gearbox should be avoided.

How to Remove the Rear Seat of a Hyundai Tucson?

To remove the rear seat of a Hyundai Tucson, follow these steps. Start by moving the front seats to their most forward position to gain space. Next, locate the release lever on the underside of the rear seat, near the floor. Press this lever down while pulling the seat upwards to unlock it from the anchor pins. Once unlocked, tilt the seat upwards and forwards to remove it from its position. Repeat this process for both sides of the rear seat. Be careful of any electrical cables or components that may be connected to the seat during removal. Once the rear seat is removed, the disassembly is complete.
