How to Replace the Gear Oil on a Peugeot 3008

This guide shows how to replace the automatic transmission oil on a Peugeot 3008. The procedure must be carried out from both the engine bay and the underside of the vehicle, so a vehicle lift is necessary. From the engine bay, remove the engine air filter and its hose; this operation reveals a coloured Torx55 plug at the bottom of the vehicle: this is the oil reservoir cap for the transmission. Once the car is lifted, unscrew the drain plug of the reservoir, located near the start of the exhaust pipe and before the front axle. Using a Torx40 spanner, unscrew the first bolt, ensuring to place a container under the reservoir and check the oil temperature. Using a 17mm hex spanner, unscrew the second stage of the drain plug; while the reservoir empties completely, it is advisable to clean the two plugs that were unscrewed earlier. Refit them in position and tighten them well; lower the vehicle again. Using a funnel, pour in the new transmission oil (the specifications are detailed in the user and maintenance manual); the quantity is approximately 3 litres. Close the reservoir with the coloured cap and reassemble the air filter.
