Removing the Car ECU

Model: Peugeot 406 MK 1 - Years 1995-2005

The following guide shows how to reset the car ECU. It is a problem that can be easily solved. The bare minimum required for this operation is a TORX key/driver, a pair of long, thin tweezers, and for those better equipped, a flat screwdriver can be used without causing damage. Start by unscrewing the 5 upper screws and remove the upper cover. Also remove the plastic sheet with the 2 black rubber grommets. Turn the ECU upside down and unscrew the lower screws as well as the front screws near the connector. At this point, it will be possible to remove the internal board from the metal housing.
