Dismantling the Universal Joint of the Steering Column

The connecting shaft of the steering column to the steering box has a very important safety function: it is telescopic and absorbs deformations of the cabin in the event of a frontal impact, preventing the steering wheel from being pushed towards the driver. If you need to dismantle this shaft, first remove the safety plate, then unscrew the fixing pin and carefully extract the joint from the shaft, ensuring that the shaft does not rotate, which could damage the airbag tape. Proceed in reverse for reassembly.
