Check Engine Control Unit Fault Memory

If the engine warning light remains illuminated on the instrument panel, you need to check the fault memory of the engine management unit to understand the source of the anomaly. This operation is performed by connecting a diagnostic tool to the OBD (On Board Diagnostics) socket that can communicate, through appropriate protocols, with the engine control unit. The OBD socket is located beneath the panel directly under the steering wheel: rotate the central screw, remove the panel, access the OBD socket and connect the diagnostic tool interface; then start the program by selecting the make, model, year, and engine type of the vehicle; then read the error codes and try to clear the fault memory; if the fault reoccurs, further investigation will be necessary.
