Exhaust Tailpipe Replacement

Model: Peugeot 106 MK 1 - Years 1991-2004

First, carry out this repair with the engine cold and the vehicle on a lift. Start by spraying penetrating oil (such as WD40) on the clamp securing the tailpipe to the exhaust pipe; then, unscrew the clamp bolt to widen it and allow the tailpipe to be removed, also disconnecting the rubber mounts that secure it to the chassis. Once the old tailpipe is removed, clean the mating surface with a wire brush or sandpaper to remove any deposits and facilitate the fitting of the new tailpipe; align and insert the new tailpipe into the exhaust pipe, secure it to the support rubber mounts, and tighten the clamp bolt.
