To replace the clutch on a Peugeot 406, you need to loosen the screws that secure the gearbox to its housing: these screws are located at the bottom of the engine bay and can be accessed by opening the bonnet. To completely remove the gearbox, you will also need to remove the left front wheel so that the gearbox can be extracted: this way, the clutch will be visible and can be disconnected from the respective pressure plate, allowing it to be replaced with a new one. After replacement, you can install the new one, ensuring everything functions correctly.
