Changing the air filter on the Porsche 997 is a task performed approximately every 12,400 miles and greatly helps the proper functioning of the engine. Common tools are needed, including T25 and T20 wrenches, and of course, a replacement filter, which can be easily found on major e-commerce platforms starting at around $130. The first step is to disconnect the solenoid valve by pressing the gray button. Next, remove the hose located above the airbox. Now, using a 25 mm wrench, remove the nuts from the protective cover; be careful not to drop them into the engine while removing. Once the cover is off, you will find the two filters, which are very dirty. Remove them using a 20 mm wrench, which is quite simple. After removing the filters, clean the base and only then install the new ones. Replace the cover, reconnect the hose, and reconnect the solenoid valve. Job complete.
