Replacing the Diesel Filter on the Renault Trafic

In this video, you will see how to replace the diesel filter on the Renault Trafic. Open the bonnet of the engine compartment; you will find the filter assembly on the passenger side wheel arch.

Disconnect it from its housing and place a container underneath to catch the diesel that will spill from the filter. Using a Torx key, unscrew the screw on the top of the cover and separate the container housing the filter element.

Remove the old gasket and pull out the old filter, insert the new one, and place the new gasket on both the edge of the filter and the screw of the cover. Refit the cover and secure it with its screw.

Next to the filter, you will find a rubber pump protected by a plastic cover. Loosen the bleed screw on the cover, operate the pump after removing the protection, until all the air in the circuit is expelled from the screw.

Tighten the bleed screw, replace the protection on the pump, and place the filter back in its housing.
