First of all: what is decarbonization? It is a process of removing carbon deposits that accumulate on the cylinder head, valves, and combustion chamber. Over time, these deposits can cause damage, increase fuel consumption, and compromise engine performance. The method used by the YouTuber is to inject gaseous hydrogen into the engine: hydrogen, thanks to its chemical properties, promotes the combustion of carbon deposits at high temperatures, through a phenomenon called "pyrolysis", transforming them into gases that are expelled. It is considered an effective and safe method, as it only acts on residues without damaging components. As a preventive measure, it is recommended to carry out this process at least once a year (or every 15/20,000 km), especially for diesel engines: therefore, it is useful to include it in the regular service.
