How to change the diesel filter on a Renault Trafic II

In this video we will see how to change the diesel filter on a Renault Trafic II: the filter is located under the hood, on the left side of the engine (driver's side). It is a black plastic cylinder with an electrical connector on top and diesel pipes. To prevent air from entering the system, it is essential not to immediately unscrew the filter, but to prepare the system by emptying the bleed valve located on top of the filter: press it several times until the pressure becomes hard, pressurizing the system and pushing the diesel into the filter. Even if the filter is in the engine compartment, it may not be in a convenient position; lifting the car a bit will give us more space to work. Place a container under the filter, disconnect the electrical connector and unscrew the cartridge, allowing all the diesel to drain. Take the new filter, fill the cartridge with clean diesel (to reduce the possibility of air entering the system) and lubricate the o-ring with some new diesel. Screw the filter into its housing and tighten it without over-tightening. Bleed the air again as we did at the beginning and check for leaks at the connections. Reconnect the electrical connector, turn the key on and off 2 or 3 times, then start the engine: let it idle for a couple of minutes.
