Replacing the Timing Belt on a Renault Clio

Although replacing the timing belt is not exactly a DIY task, you can attempt the replacement by following the instructions below and referring to the video. First, lift the vehicle and remove the front right wheel. Loosen and disconnect the coolant hose to drain it, then remove the engine mount and the timing belt protection cover. Rotate the crankshaft pulley to align the markings on the camshaft and lock them with a pin to maintain timing. Next, remove the auxiliary belt, loosen the timing belt tensioner, and remove it. If necessary, also remove the water pump. Finally, slide out the timing belt.
