Replacing the Rocker Cover Gasket

When carrying out a repair that requires the removal of covers and/or casings that include a gasket, it is always advisable to replace it with a new one during reassembly; the so-called gasket kit for the engine series includes all the gaskets and oil seals necessary for the assembly of the entire engine, but they can also be purchased individually if needed. Before installing the new rocker cover gasket, thoroughly clean the gasket seating, both on the cylinder head side and the cover side, apply gasket sealant at the joint of the timing casing with the cylinder head, and insert the gasket followed by the cover to be secured with the respective bolts.
