How to Replace the Timing Belt on the Renault Scenic?

Model: Renault Megane Megane III, Megane 3 - Years 2008-2015

To replace the timing belt on this model, refer to the following description and especially watch the video. First, open the bonnet and disconnect the battery, then lift the car and remove the right wheel, followed by removing the screws securing the inner wing. Next, remove the auxiliary belt by loosening the tensioner. Remove the lower soundproofing panel and the bolt securing the lower engine mount. Loosen the hose clamp on the coolant pipe under the radiator and drain the system. Once the upper engine mount is removed, you can use a small crane to lift it. Then, remove the upper timing belt cover and unscrew the screws holding the lower cover. At this point, you will have access to the belt and can insert the timing pin into the crankshaft and camshaft pulleys. Next, remove the crankshaft pulley and loosen the belt tensioner. Finally, you will be able to slide off the belt.
