Check Starter Motor Functionality

If the starter motor does not activate when turning the ignition key and it is ruled out that the battery is flat, there is likely an issue with the starter motor. Once removed, you can perform some tests to check its functionality using a battery. Connect the negative terminal to the casing, the positive to the pin where the battery cable is connected, and with another wire, apply positive to the contact from the ignition switch to simulate starting. You may notice that the pinion tends to jam. You can then try powering the solenoid directly to check the pinion's movement and verify the relay that powers it. It is advisable to have a complete inspection performed once removed.
