This video shows a clever system to resolve the issue of Renault key cards that stop working after a while. On the dev-car.ro website, you can find this ingenious solution: the blue-R system.

It is a transmitter (costing £125, including shipping) that allows you to perform all the operations you normally did with your K-card via your smartphone. This includes locking and unlocking the vehicle, as well as starting and stopping the engine.

You can even start the vehicle with the doors closed, which is useful if you want to find it warm in winter. It can be handy if you leave with the car and don’t have the keys with you, or if a family member needs the car while you are out with the keys, and so on.
