Seat Leon - Video tutorial

Model: Seat Leon 1M - Years 1999-2005
Part: Lock
Operation: How to replace the lock of the right front door of the Seat Leon.

To replace the lock on the front right door of the Seat Leon, we open the door and, using a plastic tool, remove the inner handle protection. We find 2 screws that we unscrew, and also unscrew the screws around the inner door panel. Using a plastic tool, we detach the panel from the door, lift it to allow the latch to pass through, detach the cord of the inner handle, and disconnect the window button connector (after lowering the window a bit to reach a bolt, which we unscrew and then manually lift and hold the window closed with tape). Once the connector is disconnected, we detach the wire sheaths from the door using a plastic tool, unscrew the door screws, the one on the side at the bottom, lift the outer handle to remove the nearby piece by lifting it with a plastic tool, unscrew the two lock screws, unscrew the remaining top screws of the door, and remove the door panel. We disconnect the electric window connector, detach the pin of the outer handle to remove the lock. Now we take the new handle, place the missing pieces from the old one onto the new lock, put it back into the door, attach the pin to the outer handle, the piece near the handle, and reassemble everything by following the reverse procedure of disassembly.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
