Where to Find the Air Conditioning Recharge Valves on the Smart 450

If activating the air conditioning does not engage the compressor or the air from the vents is not cold enough, it means there is insufficient gas in the air conditioning system; it is advisable to recharge it and check for any leaks in the system. First, locate the valves to connect the recharge device; these valves, protected by plastic caps, are located at the front of the vehicle, behind the central grille that frames the fog lights. You will need to remove both the grille and the fog lights to access the valves; one is located on the left side of the front bumper and the other inside the housing of the right fog light.
