How to Replace the Starter Motor on the Smart?

To replace the starter motor on the Smart, open the rear hatch of the car and remove the panel located at the base of the rear compartment, under which the engine block is situated. Behind the engine block itself, the starter motor will be present: this must be removed from its position by unscrewing the fastening bolts of its supports and disconnecting the appropriate power cables. Once the old starter motor is freed, you can insert the new replacement part into its position, securing and connecting it properly.
