Engine Oil Change on a Subaru Forester SJ

In this tutorial video, learn how to change the engine oil and the oil filter on a Subaru Forester SJ, produced from 2012 to 2019. Start by going under the vehicle and removing the oil sump plug with a 14mm spanner. Allow all the used oil to drain into a container and let it drain for a few minutes, then replace the plug. Next, remove the old filter located in the engine bay by simply unscrewing it. Lubricate the gasket of the new oil filter and screw it into position. Once done, add new engine oil and you have completed the job.
