There are many additives on the market for internal engine treatment and cleaning: these are products that can be added to the engine oil before performing regular maintenance, or sprayed into the intake manifold, or added to the fuel in the tank to clean and lubricate the fuel system; it is the opinion of the writer that fuel additives are certainly effective in preventing the formation of algae in the tank due to the addition of biofuels to fossil fuels; however, anything proposed as intake cleaning or internal engine cleaning should be avoided as, in the attempt to perform this internal cleaning, some carbon residue may detach that could even damage the engine: if you really want to keep the engine clean internally, it is advisable to bring forward the maintenance schedule and change the oil and filter more frequently using quality products.
