How to Fit the Timing Belt on a Suzuki Alto

Prepare to replace the timing belt on a Suzuki Alto: lift the car on a column lift or jack (if necessary, remove the front wheel and the right wheel arch liner with a screwdriver). Once these steps are completed, lift the bonnet, remove the engine soundproofing panel, and the cover (plastic or metal) of the timing belt. Using a suitable spanner, loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. After fitting the new timing belt, use the spanner to tension the tensioner pulley, tightening until the belt has the correct tension (as previously fitted). Finally, check the belts and refit all associated parts.
