The legal chassis number of the Suzuki Swift is located on the body, inside the engine compartment. You can find it by opening the engine hood, on the side in front of the passenger, almost under the grille below the windshield. It is a code consisting of 17 alphanumeric digits that, in the case of Suzuki, starts with the prefix JS1/JS2. The same code can also be found on the metal plate inside the driver's door: it is not the legal chassis number, but it is used for the car's color code. Another plate with the chassis number is on the driver's side windshield, but it is only a temporary plate used to move the vehicle until it has a license plate.
