In this video, we can see how to unlock the front hood of a Toyota Rav4 MK5 that has become stuck, making it impossible to open from inside the cabin. This issue can also occur in a new car due to a component coming out of place. If someone tries to open the hood without the key, the alarm may go off. First, we are shown how the release latch works from inside the cabin, but if we need to access it from underneath, we must remove the engine cover, which is held in place by 16 bolts starting with those on the wheel arches, taking care not to damage anything. Now we have access to the locking mechanism; as we saw from above, we need to release the latch and the hood will open.
