Let's see how to change the engine oil and filter of a Toyota Yaris 1.3 petrol version MK3: open the oil filling cap to facilitate draining, warm up the engine for 5 minutes, add detergent to the oil tank, such as Motul Engin Clean, which can be found on eBay with the code 375643454760 at a price of 17.50 euros, free delivery.

Leave the engine idling for 15 minutes and then let it cool down.

Lift the front of the car, remove the plastic protection under the engine, place a container under the drain plug and let it drain; then dispose of the used oil at an authorized center. The filter is accessible from the engine compartment; unscrew the cartridge, remove the gasket and clean the seat with brake cleaner.

Install the new filter, lubricating the gasket with new oil, and screw it in by hand. Replace the new plug and gasket on the sump, reassemble the base and lower the car. Add about 90% of the oil recommended by the manufacturer through the top cap. Start the engine for 30 seconds to circulate the oil and fill the filter.

Measure the oil level and add more until it reaches "max" without ever exceeding it.
