How do you replace the oil filter on a Toyota Yaris? Lift the car on a column lift and drain the used oil from the engine, then move on to removing the engine oil filter. You can remove the oil filter from underneath the engine bay or from above. Unscrew the large oil filter from underneath the engine bay: extract the used oil filter and position a new one. Lower the car and lift the bonnet, then unscrew the cap to top up the new oil. Top up the new oil and close the bonnet. Replace the filter every time you change the engine oil.
