How to replace the oil filter on a Toyota Yaris? We lift the car onto a column bridge and remove the used oil from inside the engine, then move on to disassembling the engine oil filter. The oil filter can be removed from the bottom of the engine compartment or from the inside. We unscrew the large oil filter from under the engine compartment: extract the worn oil filter and place a new one. We bring the car down and lift the front hood, then unscrew the cap to top up the new oil. We top up the new oil and close the front hood. We replace the filter every time we change the engine oil.
