How to Remove the Inner Door Panel of the Toyota RAV-4 MK5

For this job, you need a few tools: a plastic lever and a cross-head screwdriver. Start by prying off the plastic cover behind the internal handle; behind it, you will find a cross-head screw which you will remove. At the bottom of the door, where the window switch panel is located, pry off the edges of the cover to detach it. Behind, there are two electrical connectors, thus separating the switches from the panel. There is a plastic piece shaped like an inverted "L" that goes from the switch panel upwards (behind the handle). Start from the top: insert the flat screwdriver to create a small gap. Once pried, gently pull outwards: beneath this trim, there is another screw. As with the top. Now that all screws are removed, pull the door trim from the bottom, detach the securing clips, and lift the panel upwards. Disconnect the internal handle (it has cables: they do not need to be removed individually, just pull the handle to one side and it will come out whole from its housing.
