How to Install a Cold Air Intake

Model: Toyota Celica T230 - Years 1999-2006

This video demonstrates the installation of a new cold air intake on a Toyota Celica. After raising the vehicle on a jack, open the bonnet and disconnect the battery. Remove the screws securing the mass air flow sensor, detach the blue hose connecting the battery to the air box, and disconnect the two small connections near the pipe. Now, remove the old air system (which will no longer be needed). At this point, insert the new AEM cold air intake. Use a piece of hose (about 10 cm) and connect it with a metal clamp to the inlet of the filter box, ensuring the other end is positioned downwards to draw in fresh air from under the car; this operation should be performed from the side (near the front left wheel), so the wheel must be removed. Now secure the cold air intake by tightening the locking bolt on its side tab. Using clamps, reconnect the mass air flow sensor to the intake. Finally, fit a filter (as shown) to the piece of hose that collects air from the lower part of the vehicle.
