Instructions for Cleaning the Throttle Body

If you experience issues during engine starting, or if the idle is irregular or there are flat spots during acceleration, it may be a problem with the throttle body, which regulates the airflow into the intake; the first step is to clean the throttle body itself. Start by removing the air filter cover and the hose connecting it to the throttle body, then disconnect the vacuum hose and the connectors before proceeding to remove the nuts and mounting pins; once the throttle body is detached from the intake manifold, remove the gaskets, disconnect the accelerator cables, and begin cleaning with the appropriate cleaner.
