This guide shows how to replace the fuel filter on the Toyota 4Runner N180. The first step is to disconnect the EFI fuse, which controls the fuel pump operation, and disconnect the pump itself; start the engine to drain the fuel lines; disconnect the battery before lifting the vehicle. Safely lift the vehicle and locate the filter housing. Using a 10 mm wrench, remove the filter mounting bolt. Using a 19 mm and a 14 mm wrench, disconnect the two fuel lines, placing a container to catch any remaining fuel. Remove the old cartridge and install the new element following the installation direction. Reattach the hydraulic lines and the filter bracket. Reconnect the battery and insert the fuel pump fuse, then start the engine for a few minutes.
