This guide shows how to replace the front brake pads on the Toyota 4Runner N180. The first step is to secure the vehicle, remove the front wheel, and lift the car. Turn the steering wheel to facilitate the operation. Using a small screwdriver, detach the retaining pin of the brake pad guide pins. Connect a brake fluid recovery device to the bleed valve and open it; retract the caliper pistons and remove the old pad. Fully retract the pistons and install the new brake components lubricated with the appropriate material. Close the bleed valve and reassemble everything in position. When topping off the brake fluid reservoir, do not shake the bottle to prevent air bubbles from entering the system.
