Replacing Front Brake Pads and Caliper Maintenance

Model: Toyota Yaris Xp10 - Years 1999-2005

Once the vehicle is lifted on the hoist, remove the front wheels and the fixing pins of the brake caliper to its support. After removing the caliper, extract the pads from the support. Lubricate the sliding plates of the pads (even though there is usually a new kit in the packaging of the new pads), and compress the caliper piston completely into its seat using a C-clamp or a mole grip, and the pins inside the support to which the caliper fixing pins are screwed. If you wish to remove the caliper as well, pinch the brake line with a locking pliers and unscrew the fixing pin of the eyelet. Once the caliper is on the bench, press the piston by accessing from the brake line seat and let it out to clean it thoroughly before reinserting it into its seat after lubricating the O-ring, ensuring the rubber boot adheres perfectly and securing it with the respective circlip. Reconnect the brake line to the caliper, insert the new pads, and reassemble the caliper, performing a bleed of the system: pay attention during the first braking.
