To replace the key fob battery on the Toyota Tacoma, follow these steps. Insert a screwdriver into the gap between the two halves of the key and pry it open.

Remove the back half of the key to access the battery compartment. Use the screwdriver to pry open the compartment and locate the battery.

Carefully pry out the battery with the screwdriver, take the new battery (CR2016), and place it in the compartment, ensuring the correct orientation (positive terminal facing up). Finally, close the compartment and snap the two halves of the key back together.
