Operation: Where is the auxiliary battery located on the Toyota Rav4?

In this video, we will see where the auxiliary battery of the Toyota Rav 4 is located and how to restart it in case of an emergency. In fact, under the hood, this vehicle is a bit different from the average car. Here we will not find the 12-volt starting battery, which is instead located in the trunk, next to the spare wheel. If the vehicle does not start, you can jump-start it with jumper cables and get help from a second vehicle. Let's see how. We open the fuse box on the front side of the hood, lift the cover of the red emergency starting terminal, and connect the red positive jumper cable to this terminal. Now we connect the jumper cables to the second vehicle, placing the red cable on the positive terminal and the black one on the negative terminal. On the Rav4, the black cable should be connected to a usual, fixed, and unpainted metal point, away from the emergency starting terminal. We can start the second vehicle, increase the RPMs, and keep it at this level for five minutes to recharge the Rav4's auxiliary battery. Then, with our foot on the brake, we press the Rav4's button to turn it on; once it is on, we can remove the cables, following the reverse order of how we connected them. Remember to have the vehicle checked at an authorized workshop.

First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video.
